Protect your vote

Civilrights.org has a voting resource and voting rights guide to ensure your vote counts. Jeff Lieber at Daily Kos offered some very astute reasons to STFIL and only vote provisional ballot if all else fails. That said, if you are hassled at the polls, please don't leave without voting. It is your right to vote, no matter what, so do use the provisional ballot if you must. Double check your vote as there are instances of the machines flipping votes or not recording votes - mostly for Democrats. Nice.

Sweet taste of victory

Via Jezebel,
As if you needed another reason to vote, Ben and Jerry's have announced that they'll be handing out free scoops to everyone who places a vote this Election Day! All you have to do is show up at your local Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shop (sadly, you can't just snag a pint from the 7-11 and run out screaming, "I'm a registered voter! I'm above the lawwww!") between 5-8 pm on Nov. 4, show them your "I Voted Today!" sticker, a picture of yourself in front of a voting booth, or do the "I Voted Dance", whatever that may be, and voila! Free ice cream is yours. Because what's sweeter than exercising your right to vote? Exercising your right to vote with chocolate sprinkles on top, of course.

Stop the (Anti-LGBT) Props

From Dana over at MotherTalkers and Mombian:
Florida's Prop 2, California's Prop 8, Arizona's Prop 102: These are the measures that could make marriage for same-sex couples unconstitutional under state law, and take away the existing right to marry for same-sex couples in California. Many people have already given money to fight them...

With two weeks to go now before the election, what else can you do, especially if you are a busy parent or don't live in one of these states, to stop any or all of these measures from passing? How can you keep informed and help spread the word? Here are some ideas, in no particular order. Please feel free to add more in the comments.
